This is the legend of Dong Fang Shuo:

The story of Dongfang Shuo stealing peaches comes from the following legend: On the birthday of Emperor Wu of Han, a black bird descended from the sky in front of the palace, and Emperor Wu did not know its name. Dongfang Shuo replied, "This is the mount of the Queen Mother of the West, 'Qingluan', and the Queen Mother will come to celebrate the emperor's birthday." Sure enough, in an instant, the Queen Mother of the West floated in with 7 fairy peaches. The Queen Mother of the West kept two fairy peaches for herself and presented the remaining 5 to Emperor Wu. After eating, the emperor wanted to keep the pits for planting. The Queen Mother of the West said, "This peach will bear fruit once every three thousand years, but the soil in the Central Plains is thin, and it will not grow if planted." She pointed at Dongfang Shuo and said, "He has stolen my fairy peach three times." Based on this, the legend of Dongfang Shuo stealing peaches began to spread. Dongfang Shuo was also worshipped as the God of Longevity because he lived for more than 18,000 years. In later generations, the birthdays of emperors were often celebrated with the picture of Dongfang Shuo stealing peaches.
