Large Chinese Antique porcelain food pot,  Late Qing #2257

Nice large bowl with lid decorated with birds, rooster and flowers. The decoration on the lid shows a Rooster and Peony which in Chinese culture represent the wish of fame and wealth "功名富贵", the pot has decoration of a magpie standing on a branch of plum flower, which in Chinese culture represents the wish for a happy and joyful life "喜上眉梢".

The pot is dated in the calligraphy on the side but its a little hard to read, it appears to read  Xin Chou 辛丑 which would have the pot dated to the year 1901.

Condition: 

Checked with UV lamp. No crack, No hairline, No restoration. The lid or pot is not 100% round, however when the lid is placed in the right position it fits well. If the lid is not placed in the right position the lid will be unstable and not closing perfectly. Some fritting's to the base. General wear and manufacturing flaws.
